WINE APPRECIATION
WHERE - Lorraine Bramson’s home, 40 Wilson Street , Collingwood Ontario, L9Y 0Y8
WHEN – May 7, 2024, 3 – 5 P.M.
WHY - Most of us enjoy a glass of wine, but what do you know about the multitude of wines available. Does a big price tag make it better? Does the region or country the grapes are grown in make it better? Does oak or unoaked make it better? Does it go well with what I’m cooking? We hope to explore these and many other questions and investigate more affordable wines of many varieties and learn about what influences their taste.
We have our favourite wine expert, Greg Bewick. He will take us on a journey through Italy. He often brings a surprise taste as well from his collection. After we are guided through the tasting he will leave and we can discuss further over some delectable goodies
COST - $30 including tax, minimum 8 and maximum 10 participants, non-refundable but transferrable to someone on the wait list. Deadline to register is Thursday, Apr. 23, 2024

WHY – Join us at Red Hen Artisanale for an in-person workshop where you’ll learn the art of making delicious homemade pizza. Whether you are a beginner or pizza enthusiast, this hands-on workshop will teach you all the tips and tricks to create really great pizza at home. We will discuss the different styles of pizza, yeasted doughs, topping inspirations, flours, and you’ll get to practice your pizza shaping too! There will be two different pizza doughs to taste and compare in this workshop – a 50% whole grain dough, and a classic 100% white flour dough. While most workshops run by Red Hen Artisanale focus on sourdough, this workshop’s recipes are leavened entirely with commercial yeast for simplicity and ease of recreation in your own kitchen. We’ll be cooking the pizza in both a Gozney Roccbox – a portable pizza oven that can be fueled by gas or wood and an electric oven. This workshop will take place 50% inside of the studio and 50% outside while we are cooking the pizzas in the oven. Please dress appropriately for the weather. We’ll be creating, and enjoying all kinds of pizza. A light seasonal appetizer will also be served. At the end of the workshop you will be very full, go home with a recipe booklet, and a ball of dough to create pizza AGAIN, at home and any time over the next 5 days. Please bring a large Tupperware container and a cooler to get your dough home safely. All other tools, equipment, everything you might need… will be provided for you.
COST - $110 + HST or $124.30 per participant and is based on 8 participants. Non-refundable however a wait list will be created and the possibility exists for a second workshop date. Cut off for registering is May 21.
